McLaren Motorsport in New Zealand was founded by Phil Kerr, whose career in motorsport was intertwined with Australia's racing legend Sir Jack Brabham and with two of New Zealand's most famous sons, Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme. Phil was a former F1 Team Manager  for Brabham Racing, and Joint Managing Director for McLaren Racing. Following his career based in the UK, he returned to New Zealand and established the McLaren Group of companies. The Group has included a service station, an automotive engineering business specialising in the restoration of vintage Jaguars and the conversion of late model cars from left to right hand drive, and an IT consultancy. (Phil passed away August 2015. His wife Pat is carrying on the Company and the website, maintaining Phil's legacy and contributing to the Brabham and McLaren team legacies.

Today the Company’s memorabilia website is preserving the history of Jack (“JB”), Denny and the remarkable legacy that Bruce left.    Read more...
