Ceramic & Silks Automotive Services For many years McLaren Motorsport have carried out the detailed and complete restoration of many classic cars to the highest standards. Recently McLaren Motorsport have expanded their operations to include the memorabilia shop. With respect to the restoration projects of McLaren Motorsport, some of the marques which have been the subject of their expertise have been Jaguars, ranging from a 1951 Mark V Drophead through 3.4 and 3.8 Mark II's, E Types and XJ6 models. Other vehicles have included MG, Austin Healey, Lincoln, Chev Camaro and a superb 1947 Mercury Club Coupe rebuilt as new. Recently completed is this 1990 Mercedes Benz 560 SEL, which was factory supplied to the fully loaded UK specification. With the 5.6 litre Mercedes V8 developing 220kw the car offers the best of both worlds -performance and handling combined with complete luxury. The S class is acknowledged as one of the safest cars ever produced. In this instance the project aim was to carry out a total McLaren refurbishment of the 560 from bumper to bumper, fitting all new and uprated parts as required and completing a comprehensive service check throughout. The result is a magnificent sedan in near original pristine condition. This is the only McLaren Motorsport badged and prepared 560 anywhere. The exterior is midnight blue duotone, whilst the interior is faultless in blue trim and leather. Original
1967 Triumph 2000
There is so much to say about this little Triumph, it's a work of art. Here is a rare and interesting car - not a true classic of course, but unique nonetheless. This 1967 Mk1 Triumph 2000 Auto was assembled at the New Zealand plant in Nelson, where Jaguar XJ6 models were also built. The genuine mileage is an incredible 14994 miles and the car is quite original and literally like brand new!! McLaren Motorsport has just completed the 15000-mile service and this is now recorded in the original service record handbook. At present privately owned, this rare Triumph belongs in a museum or private collection.
